The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi from the floor of the Assembly tried to justify the pact they made with the majority for criminal amnesty.
In his speech in the Assembly, Bardhi stated that the news that 100 people accused of corruption had benefited from the amnesty was untrue. According to him, SPAK has informed him that no person under investigation by the Special Prosecutor's Office has received a reduced sentence.
But in fact the persons who were under investigation were not included in the amnesty agreement, and in fact it is about the release of over 100 persons/officials investigated by SPAK and convicted by GJKKO, who have benefited from this amnesty. Apparently, Bardhi is now acting as the government's lawyer in an attempt to hide the amnesty bargain.
" Concerned by the misinterpreted news in the media, that "100 corrupt officials" benefited from the amnesty from prison, dated April 25, 2024, I have officially addressed SPAK with a request for information. Yesterday I was officially informed by the head of SPAK, whom I want to thank for the correctness, from which it turns out that everything that was claimed this morning in this hall is a big lie.
SPAK has detailed, explained and clarified the false story that "100 corrupt officials" were released from prison or benefited from a reduction in their prison terms due to the amnesty, a big untruth, which is inflated/made up by those who do not even understand what they read and they don't even want to understand, but they have decided to stick to the lie policy of the day: "we pretend to say something untrue, without saying anything in the interest of the citizens" to become the news of the day. Who can't produce politics, the only way is lying to become news. Whoever cannot make a real opposition to the government of Edi Rama, has the only way to invent false causes to become news ", he writes.
The clarification of SPAK is clear that:
No specific subject of SPAK has benefited from the Amnesty.
No criminal proceedings under investigation by SPAK or court proceedings that have not ended with a final decision have benefited from Aministia.
No judge or prosecutor was in prison at the time of the entry into force of the Amnesty and therefore had no way to benefit from release from prison.
From 18 criminal offenses under the competence of SPAK (Articles 244, 244/a, 245, 245/1, 257, 258, 259, 259/a, 260, 312, 319, 319/a, 319/b, 319/ c, 319/ç, 319/d, 319/dh and 319/e) only 1 criminal offense, i.e. persons convicted of the criminal offense provided for in Article 245/1 "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions" , have benefited from the amnesty.
The statistics provided by SPAK refer to these subjects, i.e. citizens who have been convicted for exercising illegal influence.
Of all the figures referred by SPAK, only 4 citizens benefited from release from prison, while the rest were not in prison, because they were released by GJKKO itself.
