Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the presentation of the Startup Albania platform, where he spoke about Albania's digital progress.
During his speech, he focused on the possibility of our country offering online marriage services.
He emphasized that they did not realize it because witnesses are needed, but added that it is in his vision and can be realized.
"We still haven't solved the problem of online marriages. This is something we haven't yet completed, given that we need witnesses. Maybe we can do it," Rama said.
After this, American professor William P. Barnet asked Prime Minister Rama: "Can you do divorces?"
Further jokingly, the prime minister said that online marriages are more difficult than online divorces.
"I strongly believe that divorces, from my own experience having had several, are simpler than marriages, because they are done on WhatsApp and then formalized in the courtroom. These are blessings made possible by technology," Rama said.
