At the UN headquarters in New York, where Prime Minister Edi Rama led the high-level discussion between the representatives of member states in the Security Council, the former US ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, has reappeared.
In the meeting room were the leaders of the participating countries where the US is represented by President Joe Biden and Russia by Foreign Minister Lavrov.
Yuri Kim, who has been appointed to a senior position at the State Department, also participated in the high-level US diplomatic team.
At Wednesday's meeting of the Security Council on Ukraine led by Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, the country that holds the next presidency of the Council, Russia expressed its dissatisfaction with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the fact that he spoke in front of the members of the Council.
President Zelenskyy participated for the first time in person in the work of this UN body since Moscow launched its aggression against Ukraine in February 2022.
Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia protested saying that the Albanian presidency was giving priority to President Zelenskyy and Western countries. Prime Minister Rama responded harshly to his comments.
