Albania's ambassador to the UN, Ferit Hoxha, spoke about the meeting of the Security Council that was addressed in New York by the head of the government Edi Rama.
Ambassador Hoxha commented, among other things, on the debate between Rama and the representatives of Russia, saying that their debate is episodic and has nothing to do with the essence of the meeting.
"The procedural debate at the beginning of the meeting is episodic and has nothing to do with the essence of the meeting. This meeting today is part of the program of the Albanian presidency of the Council during this month. It is one of the two signature meetings and activities, in English they are called "signature events", they are meetings in which the presidency is invested more than in other parts of the agenda.
This meeting of this high level, an open debate with Ukraine, is the first time that it has been organized since the beginning of the war and is in full agreement with the positions that Albania has taken on the conflict in Ukraine", said Ferit Hoxha in Euronews Albania.
