Here is the ranking by districts....
The counting of preferential votes in most regions has been completed. This means that we more or less have an idea of who the deputies of the new Parliament will be. In Berat, Dibër, Elbasan, Gjirokastër, Korçë, Kukës, Shkodër and Vlorë, the counting has been completed and now we only wait for what the diaspora vote will bring.
The process of counting votes from the diaspora has reached a critical point: so far 113,309 envelopes out of a total of 194,889 have been opened, or about 58.15% of the total. The results so far show a clear lead for the Socialist Party, which is dominating the emigrant vote with over 54% of the total.
According to official data, the SP received 60,659 votes, while the DP-ASHM Coalition came in second with 31,795 votes, representing less than 30% of the votes counted so far. Others – such as “Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet”, “Mundësia” and “Lëvizja Bashkë” – received modest numbers, but enough to be present in the final results.
The diaspora vote this year is showing a consistent trend: Albanians abroad are supporting the current government more than the opposition. With over 81,000 envelopes still to be opened, the trend seems difficult to reverse, but it could affect the race for seats in districts where the result is close.
But after the counting for the parties is closed, the preferential vote will begin and we will see what will happen. Tirana is expected with interest. There is an open competition between Jorida Tabaku and Ilir Alimehmet in the DP. But even in the SP there is a battle to secure the last place on the open list.
