The vice president of the democrats of the Reestablishment group Luciano Boçi has reacted regarding the recent developments on the electoral reform, a reform initiated by the socialist majority and the democrats led by Lulzim Basha.
Based on this but also from the messages conveyed by the US and EU diplomatic headquarters in Tirana, Boçi emphasized that it is not about electoral reform, but about an agreement between Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha.
" There is an agreement between Rama and Basha, an agreement that comes as a logic of other agreements between them, and this overcomes exactly what the EU requires, the inclusion of all political factors in a reform that is important for all political parties, especially in the implementation of OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, which has been a very acute problem. As they have often been requested and they have not been realized, and especially their remarks in relation to the election processes in Albania.
While both diplomatic missions emphasize that they have not mediated for a coordination of affairs between the socialist majority and the Basha group, it means that this is their initiative and the request of the diplomatic missions is clear, definite and in its language that the process be comprehensive.
In this particular case, the "Basha" grouping cannot have a co-chairman, the reform is partisan, the interest of parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties, that is, of large parties and small parties. Therefore, all factors must be included ", said Luciano Boçi in "Ora News".
