Many world leaders have received an invitation from Trump to the Peace Board, including Rama, but what is the price that Albanians will pay...
Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, is among world leaders who have received an invitation to join the "Peace Board", a new structure created by US President Donald Trump, with the aim of implementing an ambitious post-war plan in the Gaza Strip.
But Rama is not alone: Canada, Egypt, Argentina and Turkey have also confirmed that they have received invitations. So far, it is not clear whether all UN member states have been invited or just a narrow circle, selected by the Trump administration.
The fact that Edi Rama is among the world leaders raises suspicions that something bigger is hidden. When Trump conceived the depopulation of Gaza, Albania was among the countries rumored to be able to shelter the expelled Palestinians.
Meanwhile, at the end of December, the National Contingency Plan for mixed migratory flows for the years 2026-2028 was published, which foresees the establishment of immigrant centers in the regions of Korça, Gjirokastra and Vlora with capacities ranging from 100 to 410 people. The centers will be built in existing public buildings, such as dormitories, schools, sports halls, but also in temporary emergency structures, activated in case of high flows.
In short, Albania plans to build 20 reception centers for illegal immigrants from countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, or Gaza. Is this the price of Rama's invitation?
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump called this structure: " The largest and most prestigious board that has ever been assembled, at any time, in any place ."
But in essence, the Peace Board is a still vague structure, with undefined missions and no full international representation, which has raised doubts in diplomatic circles about the true purpose of this initiative. Critics speculate that this could be an attempt to create an alternative version of the UN Security Council, under the direct dominance of the US and Trump himself.
Invitations are being sent out separately and there is still no complete list of participating countries. Meanwhile, some of the key nations in the region, including Egypt and Turkey, which played key roles as mediators in the Israel-Hamas war, are still hesitant to join.
What is the Peace Board ?
This structure is part of the Trump Comprehensive Plan for Peace in Gaza, already approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2803. Based on this plan, the Board will oversee the implementation of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, organize the reconstruction of Gaza, and ensure long-term stability.
The White House announced that the board will have two executive committees, composed primarily of close Trump aides, former world leaders and businessmen such as: Tony Blair, Jared Kushner, Ajay Banga, Marc Rowan, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff and Robert Gabriel .
Another special board for Gaza, called the Gaza Executive Board, will focus on rebuilding and providing basic services in the enclave, but no Palestinian representatives are included in the governing structure. It consists of: Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Minister Hakan Fidan Ali Al-Thawadi, General Hassan Rashad, Sir Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Minister Reem Al-Hashimy, Nickolay Mladenov, Yakir Gabay and Sigrid Kaag.
Only a third, technical committee has been created to deal with public services in Gaza, led by Dr. Ali Sha'ath, a technocrat with experience in administration. It is expected to rebuild civil institutions destroyed after two years of Israeli attacks.
An alternative UN or a new US-centered geopolitical structure?
Whether this initiative is an effort for peace or an instrument for political dominance remains unclear. Many experts see it as a move to shift the center of international decision-making from the UN to an ad hoc structure led by Trump, with direct American influence.
The lack of Palestinian representation, the inclusion of figures close to Trump, and the lack of transparency around the criteria for selecting member countries have sparked widespread criticism.
At the moment, it has not yet been confirmed whether Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has accepted the invitation. However, Albania's involvement in this initiative would be diplomatically sensitive, especially given its position as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and traditional relations with the Arab world.
The Peace Board may be a sincere effort to rebuild Gaza, but it remains shrouded in a fog of non-transparency, lack of real representation, and Trump's geopolitical ambitions. Whether it will be a functional peace project or a propaganda tool for the US president's political resurgence remains to be seen in the weeks and months ahead. /Pamphlet

Tamam si ajo prostituta që kush i flet për moral, e ka gati përgjigjen: çu duhet juve se çfarë bëj unë me mallin tim. Është herët për të gjykuar.Ajo që mund të pohojmë me siguri është që, Netanjahu nuk e heq për hunde SHBA, nën e me Tramp President. Krijimi i Shtetit Palestinez, nuk ka alternativë tjetër .
