The studio brawl that revealed the invisible bargaining between Tirana and Pristina

The Buzhala-Rexhaj clash was not just a television show, but a signal of the reconfiguration of media lobbies and the Rama-Kurti rapprochement under the direction of old actors in power...

The heated debate between Berat Buzhala and Albatros Rexhaj on Blendi Fevziu's show was more than a moment of television tension. It highlighted a profound shift in media and political relations between Tirana and Pristina. Rexhaj's intense appearance in the studio, the apparent Rama–Kurti rapprochement and the role of figures like Baton Haxhiu point to a repositioning of narrative power in the Albanian space. In this game, some actors come to the fore, while others remain outside the scheme. The incident was not a coincidence, but a symptom of a larger change in the political and media balances between the two capitals.

Blendi Fevziu managed to make it "hot" on Thursday, even though there was no topic that "broke the net" in Albania. He did not address corruption or crime, but a topic with important content such as the trial of the KLA leaders in The Hague, which usually does not generate many clicks or virality on the networks.

However, suddenly everything became explosive after a strong clash between Berat Buzhala and Albatros Rexhaj. One a media executive in Pristina and a "veteran opinionist" in Albania; the other known until recently only as a writer, poet and essayist, and now emerging as an important political opinionist.

Berat's clash with Albatros, although it had the typical theatrical notes of Fevziu's show, where it is known that breaking a piano causes more fuss than playing Mozart, was in fact a signal of an important change in the political and media lobbies between Tirana and Pristina.

It is enough to look at the movements of Baton Haxhiu, an eminence grise of the powers in Tirana and Pristina, to understand how these events unfold.

The day before the December 28 elections in Kosovo last year, Baton Haxhiu appeared in the "Pressing" studio on T7, where he is a regular guest, and predicted the victory of Vetëvendosje.

What stood out in Batoni's stance was his lack of concern about this fact. He even went further, stating that the opposition leadership in Kosovo does not have the adequate narrative to win the elections.

Batoni proved correct; the word came out, after Albin Kurti won an absolute majority, as in the 2021 elections. But it seems that this performance of the "Rasputin" of the powers in Tirana and Pristina had a different background.

Its curtain seems to have opened with the new stage actor, Albatros, who replaced Milaim Zeka in "Rrethin Katror", but not only. He appears regularly in evening shows, from Grida Duma to Fevziu and others. In all these studios, Albatros maintains a strong stance in favor of Edi Rama's government.

The well-known writer is a long-time supporter of Vetëvendosje and close to the current Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca. For less than a month, Albatros has been almost everywhere: on all television stations in Tirana and most of those in Pristina. He resembles a character from science fiction films or the famous “Flash Gordon” comic strip; even if he moves by plane, he seems to appear in every studio.

All this points to a change in relations between the two power controllers in Tirana and Pristina, Edi Rama and Albin Kurti, who are giving strong signals of rapprochement. And here the chances are that "Rasputin" will be the same.

Meanwhile, Albatros, who must be said to have become the "television star of January", has opened up numerous jealousy, envy and anger. One of the victims of these movements seems to be Berat Buzhala, who in the February elections took on the role of Lumir Abdixhiku's influencer, while LDK failed miserably. In the December elections, he defended Bedri Hamza, who also lost.

In all likelihood, last night's incident is simply frustration from the pulling of the last strings by Batoni, who seems to be getting closer to Albin, even creating media bridges between him and Edi Rama.

It's that simple./ Pamphlet

    Propaganda mediatike

Studio e Fevziit është sallon pushteti, dhe kjo dihet që shumë kohë më parë, aq sa doli shprehja "nlse do të dish kur do ndryshojë pushteti në Shqipëri, shikoni me vlmendje kur Sandri i Klanit do kthejë pllakën, e madje do vejë të bëjë si analist te studio e Fevzos. Fevzo adhuronte Bruno Vespën, i cili kishte Porta a Porta, sallon pushteti siç e quajnë atje.
