Erion Braçe, a member of the Socialist Party, was among the first politicians to pay homage to the historic leader of the Socialists and former Prime Minister Fatos Nano, who passed away at the age of 73.
Tearful, the socialist MP also left a long note in the book of condolences, while praising Fatos Nano for his vision.
In a statement to the media, Braçe said that Nano gave everyone, even those who emerged from the ruins of the Labor Party, the opportunity to make a career within the SP.
"Nano gave opportunities to everyone without exception, even those who were in the ruins of the Labor Party and left it and all the others who joined the SP later."
"Without denying anyone the opportunity to grow, develop and make a career within the SP, it gave them the freedom to become better people and make an even better party than the one they inherited," said Braçe.
The socialist MP was among the former prime minister's close associates.
