Taulant Balla, from the Brigades Palace, where the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group is taking place, has called on SPAK to implement the decisions of the Strasbourg Court and the Supreme Court of Albania, regarding the state crime of January 21.
Balla said that the Parliament and the Ministry of Justice have responsibility for controlling the implementation of the decisions of the Strasbourg Court.
"Next Wednesday marks 15 years since the tragedy and state crime of January 21, while we expect justice, especially the Special Prosecution Office, to implement the decisions of the ECHR and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Albania, regarding many aspects of that criminal event.
"We have never entered into the merits or content of the criminal files, but the Albanian Parliament has responsibility for controlling the implementation of ECHR decisions together with the Ministry of Justice, as Njazi Jaho reminded us," said Balla.
The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, following his speech, said that the main objective in the 4th governing mandate is Albania's membership in the EU, before November 28, 2030.

The task of each of our 83 mandates has never been clearer than today, tomorrow and every day for the next 40 months, until sometime in the spring of 2029 we ask the Albanian people for our fifth governing mandate, together with our Prime Minister Edi Rama. During this time, there are 3 challenges for Albania 2030. The first is to close the negotiations for EU membership by the end of 2027.
The second is to enable the ratification in the 27 parliaments of the member states of the EC decision for Albania's membership in the EU during 2028. Preferably here before the elections for the European Parliament in May 2029. And the third is to have raised our red and black flag in the courtyard of our European family by November 28, 2030," Balla said, among other things.
