Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reacted today from the SPAK door, accusing its former director, Altin Dumani, of having signed 16 requests in one day to investigate his assets. According to him, even his nieces, who were not born at the time, were investigated.
But what is it about and which institutions have submitted data on Sali Berisha? According to the list provided by "Pamphlet", it concerns 12 institutions, as some institutions have had 2-3 requests.
When the investigations into the "Partizani" file began, SPAK also began verifying the assets of the Berisha family and the investigations have been extended in several directions, requesting data from the Municipality of Tirana, Taxes, Customs, Cadastre, ILDKPI and a number of other bodies.
" Here is a list of requests signed by Altin Dumani for 16 institutions, to investigate Sali Berisha and his grandchildren, even four years before their birth. Sent to every institution, without any connection, only in search of implementing the order of Edi Rama, who said that SPAK should investigate and punish Sali Berisha. This is the list, they have sent 16 requests for a 30-year investigation within one day ," Berisha said.
In fact, as can be seen in the document, the requests are from the period April-May 2022. As part of the investigation, SPAK then seized 25 properties from Jamarbër Malltez and Argita Berisha. The list includes villas in Lalëzit Bay, apartments, garages, land, etc.
Although Berisha claims that these actions are unrelated to the file, SPAK, as in other cases (e.g., Ilir Meta), has conducted a parallel financial investigation, analyzing profits and expenses during the period when he was in office. Berisha has 35 years in politics and the investigations extend back to 1992, when he was President.
The property investigations continue, and it remains to be seen whether there will be further developments in this matter.
