Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa, has commented on the choice of former Democratic MP Dashnor Sula to 'join' the SP, who already holds the position of Inspector General.

Zhupa said that his election is the best comment on the situation, while denying that Berisha expelled him from the party by not including him on the parliamentary election list on May 11.

"A political career is not just about being or not being an MP," said Zhupa, implying that it was Sula's choice to no longer be part of the DP structures after the elections.

"What to comment on is a personal choice. Sula has been a very good oppositionist. Now the rest is commented on by his own choice. Rama did not change as prime minister, he is the same one who opposed Dash Sula during 2021-2025. The contribution with the democrats who have trusted him, with the political force, what he represents and what he wants to do with him, he is free and I have no idea, I do not know if he has been expelled from the party. To my knowledge, a political career is not just about being or not being an MP, he has absolutely not been expelled. We have a decision-making by the structures and it is part of the statute that those who become part of the government are no longer members of the DP," Zhupa told "Report TV".

Meanwhile, 4 days later, the Democratic Party has called for a third national protest, after the one in December and the month we left behind. The goal is to overthrow the government of Edi Rama and to create a caretaker government, goals that cannot be achieved with just one protest, says Zhupa. Meanwhile, the MP adds that the DP has not ruled out any scenario for achieving the goal. In the last two, flares were used towards the prime minister's building and stones and violence were used towards police officers.

"Protest is the means that citizens have to make their voices heard, it is a democratic instrument. Protest cannot be one and only. Protests continue, we have launched the protests with a clear goal, the realization of a technical government. The opposition has held two protests, this is the third national one. We have not ruled out any scenario and any form to achieve the goal. This protest has the same goal, increasing the irritation and anger of citizens because political oppression is increasing daily," said the MP.

The MP also spoke about the boycott of the commission for drafting the territorial reform. Zhupa opposes this, saying that Berisha did not request such a thing either. She says that the DP stands against commissions where the majority aims to impose itself.

"We have never made a decision to boycott the parliament. Berisha has said that we will not go to committees where a majority is imposed. We are co-chairs in the territorial committee. You are obliged by the regulation that the two co-chairs must set an agenda, this is the minimum. The moment the SP does not do this, we definitely did not participate. They have the votes, we have the argument. Being in the Territorial Committee, let the arguments win over the votes ," said Zhupa.
