In Albania, the transfer of incriminated figures from one party to another demonstrates an unprincipled politics and a status quo that has held the country 'hostage' for decades.

Politics in Albania has become the safest haven for dubious figures who are recycled from one party to another, proving that nothing has changed in this country. The most symbolic case of this political hypocrisy is undoubtedly Elvis Roshi, the former mayor of Kavaja, once the darling of Edi Rama and today welcomed by Sali Berisha.

Until a few years ago, Roshi was the image of Rama's "renaissance", promoted as a model of "apolitical" and "popular" figures. However, his criminal record forced Rama to remove him after international pressure, especially from the American Embassy, setting in motion the decriminalization process.

Albanian political irony reaches its peak when the same figure that the DP used as the strongest symbol of Rama's connection to crime, now crosses over to its camp. Berisha, who once left no stone unturned in denouncing the criminal connections of Roshi and Rama, now accepts it with open arms.

Elvis Roshi's involvement with the Democratic Party is not just an isolated episode, but reflects a political system where incriminated figures are used and re-used according to the interests of the moment. This dirty game has only one winner: the criminal and political status quo, which has held Albania hostage for decades.

In a situation where political morality has turned into a farce and standards are simply a fairy tale, citizens can only despair, while the next "Roshe" move freely, snarling in the face of Albanian democracy.

It is time to understand that real change cannot come without a radical cleansing of the political class. Otherwise, the criminal status quo will remain the sole "master" of Albanian politics, leaving the country in a vicious circle of recycling crime and corruption. / Pamphlet
