DP MP Saimir Korreshi addressed the Minister of Health, Evis Sala, in ironic tones, raising the issue of her absence from parliamentary interpellations and the situation in the healthcare system.
Korreshi linked the minister's absence from the Assembly to the lack of response to concrete problems in hospitals, citing specific cases from Lushnja, where, according to him, even basic medical materials are lacking.
"Is it good that we have to ask the health department why our interpellations have not been put in a pot to boil? Does the minister know or not that the Assembly is not abandoned like this? The disease does not wait, as the minister says, at the end of the year, within this year, it does not wait. If you do not know where it is, we should look for it on the streets of Tirana. He did not know about the medicines, what does this do? Because to get an emergency, I dial 127 to connect to Tirana and he is lucky when he connects to Lushnje.
"I didn't want to try it on the house servants, but tell the minister what's happening in Albanian hospitals because she has no idea what patients go through. Do you know that there is neither cotton nor gloves in Lushnje? Let her come and see what's happening! Who is responsible? The hospital is being moved and the construction permit is not issued? Why should we treat people like pigsties? At least inform her about the salary that has been lost," said Korreshi.
