"You can't stop my candidacy", Evi Kokalari "threatens"
Evi Kokalari

Evi Kokalari has publicly reacted to Sali Berisha, accusing him of deliberately delaying the process for electing the leader of the Democratic Party and of avoiding her candidacy in this race.

In a lengthy statement, Kokalari states that since March 16 she has publicly requested inclusion in the race, while on March 19 the request was officially filed through legal representatives. According to her, as of March 31 she has not received any response from the DP leaders, while the commission that would review the candidacies has not yet been established.

She emphasizes that her candidacy is not a surprise to Berisha, claiming that she has long warned him about this step and accusing him and his family of failing to lead the party over the years. At the same time, Kokalari considers the focus on exclusions or other debates within the party as a diversion, while according to her, the process of electing the chairman is being deliberately postponed.

In the statement, she goes further by raising strong political accusations, claiming the existence of an agreement between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Sali Berisha regarding political developments, including issues related to the latter's house arrest. These claims are not confirmed by official sources.

Full post

On March 16, I publicly asked Sali Berisha to add my name to the Democratic Party's presidential race. On March 19, the request was officially sent to him through lawyers.

Today is March 31st, so 16 days have passed without any response. They say they would create a commission to deal with the candidacies, but this commission should have been ready when they publicly declared that the race for the presidency of the Democratic Party was opening.

That I would run, Berisha knew very well since 2023. I have repeatedly written to both Sali Berisha and Shkelzen Berisha, who had the last chance in 2021 to correct every mistake they had made for the last 35 years. They did not do it, but abused all of us. Now is the time for them to come out and they will come out: with grace or without grace. But one thing is certain — my candidacy was not a surprise to them.

They are already dealing with the "Fathers" and those who are expelling from the DP, and they are clearly doing this to divert attention from the fact that they are delaying the commissions and everything that they should have ready a month ago.
I understand their game, and they understand: they will not escape from my candidacy. They cannot refuse it either, because those who gave Berisha hope from the USA will soon have their own troubles and Berisha will not win this battle.

I don't know how to make it clearer, except to say that Berisha's house arrest, which was lifted based on the bargain with Rama, can be returned, because this is the track I followed this past week after Babale made it public and confirmed that Berisha, in exchange for lifting the house arrest, forgave the local elections of May 2025.
The one who enabled that bargain between Rama and Berisha will have his own troubles, but also the person who made this decision (the judge) may face justice himself and, if he received orders from Edi Rama to lift the house arrest, he will not only lose his license, but chances are that he/she will also be passed over by SPAK one day, because SPAK is not just after money. Corruption takes different forms.
The Rama-Berisha bargain as a fact confirmed by Babale, has already been passed over as information in the DASH and perhaps SPAK will soon have to answer to those who finance it.

I say this because Berisha doesn't understand that I'm not afraid of Trump's children who are stealing heavily in that country and, compared to them, Berisha and Shkëlzeni are very light weight.
So I suggest you once again not to delay this race.

My candidacy does not need the approval of a commission that will be invalid, because chances are it is composed of individuals as corrupt as Berisha himself, who he has introduced into parliament without a single vote. And as long as you cannot justify your existence in that party without a single vote won in your name, you cannot have a say in qualifying or not my candidacy and my existence in that institution, which was one of the main reasons why Berisha achieved that "comeback" as its chairman again.

Personally, I have already proven that my fight to protect the DP has been very strong. The fight against Berisha is, without a doubt, the right fight to save the party, so they cannot accuse me of attacks against the party. If they have to say that I fought against Berisha, let them say it — because that statement only brings me votes.

Again, it's almost April 1st, and Shkelzen and Sali Berisha should officially answer me (or the lawyer) and stop playing with the rights of Albanians any longer. The DP, unless Shkelzen brings me a deed registered in the cadastre since its formation, does not belong to Berisha and they will not be able to keep it by force.

And they will not be able to win over their own people by rigging votes. Anyone who enters this race now has been warned: this is a battle you will not win; in fact, you will be jeopardizing any chance of continuing in politics in the future.

The DP on May 23rd should have only one clean race, unmanipulated by the Voks, Nokers and Këlliçs: a clean race between the two founders of Rithemelim: Evi Kokalari vs Sali Berisha.
