A harsh response occurred between Prime Minister Edi Rama and the mayor of Konispol, Erges Dule, after Rama's order to purge all officials in the municipality.
Dule was among the only mayors to oppose this order, while today the socialist has provided a clarification.
In a reaction on social media, Erges Dule said that this is a positive initiative, while continuing to insist that he will not dismiss any employee who has done a good job.
In a meeting with the Prime Minister a few days ago, the mayor of Konispol rejected Rama's order to dismiss the directors, saying that they are capable and young, so there is no need to dismiss anyone from the administration. Rama responded by telling him to resign if none of the officials resign.
Erge Dules' full reaction:
Hello everyone! Thank you for your interest and comments, but I guarantee that there is no debate regarding the dismissal of administrators.
This is an initiative for the renewal of the administration, for an increase in the quality and quantity of services to citizens. Anyone who feels they can do more is invited to apply for these positions at the Konispol Municipality Secretariat. With this administration, we have done a lot of good work for the community, cleaning the territory, drainage and irrigation canals, we have put out fires, we have provided public lighting in 100% of the territory, we have paved rural roads, agricultural infrastructure, we have made projects, we have received and handled hundreds of requests/complaints, we have assisted in various e-albania applications, we have organized cultural activities, maintenance of rural roads, maintenance and investments in schools, etc. etc. Is there still work to be done? Of course there is. Are all employees equally dedicated? I tell you, no. But employees depend on and are committed to the one who leads them. If the leader does not have the passion, desire and love for his country, then even the employee will do just to show off. In Konispol I assure you that all of this is available and work is done every day. Are these enough? Of course not. Here we need your help and your opinion.
If the administration works well and is at the service of the citizen, there is no room for fear and no one moves. Your opinion is valuable and is the performance evaluation for us. Do not hesitate to express your opinion about each of the employees of the Konispol municipality, write to us about any problem. I hope that this initiative will continue in every state office where citizens are served!
