Edi Rama seems to have changed tack when it comes to relations with Greece. A few months ago, he clashed sharply with a Greek journalist. He even went so far as to say that they are not descendants of Plato or Aristotle. This statement caused a lot of uproar.
Today Rama is in Greece, where he participated in the Delphi Forum. He was asked about these statements, but it seems he dodged it. Ram has praised the Greeks.
Edi Rama: The only problem I have with Greeks and Albanians, especially Albanians, is taking themselves too seriously. We need to be very sensitive to each other's history and respect it.
-I know, but it was like some kind of hostility.
Edi Rama: No, far be it, what hostility? Anyone who knows me, I have a great admiration for this country and I think it was Thomas Miller who said it takes a lifetime to discover Greece and a day to fall in love with it. Every time I come, I haven't spent a day, I feel like I've fallen in love with this country, how can I be hostile?
-Maybe it was a bad moment.
Edi Rama: It wasn't a bad moment, maybe it was just me making fun of very serious people. Maybe I wasn't in the right place.
