Prime Minister Edi Rama, while attending the Delphi Economic Forum, has indicated that he has not yet received any reaction from US President Donald Trump, after addressing the latter that KLA leaders are being unjustly held in The Hague.
This brief conversation that Rama had with Trump after the signing of the Peace Board, in the presence of Vjosa Osmani. Rama said in an interview for "Kathimerini", that Trump has not yet informed him whether he has taken this case in hand, while adding that he thinks he has been very busy.
Question: But, I remember that last February, you were pleading with President Trump to be more involved in resolving some of the conflicts that are still happening in the region?
Rama: Yes, I had the privilege of being with President Trump on the day of the establishment of the Peace Board, and yes, I told him something that is very important to me, which has to do with International Justice. This is closely related to the International Court of Justice, which was created based on a fantasy report, which was sponsored by the Russians. Vladimir Putin's delegation to the Council of Europe supported a motion to investigate the so-called crimes of the Kosovo Liberation Army, and especially the trafficking of human organs.
The court was set up to turn this fantasy report into a trial against the leaders, and they took an elected president out of office and brought him to The Hague, putting him in prison before the indictment was announced. Also, the speaker of parliament, and then this whole process went into something completely different. So there was no human organ trafficking. And they are basically accused of leading a rebellion against an occupier and collaborating with NATO. That is the crux of the matter. So I told President Trump that this is something he should know and maybe I hope he will intervene.
Question: Has there been any response so far? Say it again? Has there been any response so far?
Rama: He hasn't informed me yet. But I think he's been very busy.
