Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the next episode of the podcast "Flasim", commented on the fire that engulfed a building a few days ago in the area known as "Farmacia 10" in Tirana, initially describing the situation as dangerous for the lives of residents.
He praised the intervention of firefighters and law enforcement, emphasizing that thanks to their professional and heroic response, the event resulted in no casualties or serious injuries, despite the extensive material damage it left behind.
According to him, although there were no casualties, the building was almost completely destroyed by the fire. He announced that concrete measures were taken immediately after the event, with the main decision being the complete reconstruction of the building by the builder himself.
Rama also guaranteed support for the affected families, emphasizing that until they return to their homes, they will benefit from a rental bonus and assistance from the municipality to cope with the economic consequences.
Rama then focused on the public reactions after the event, harshly criticizing those who, according to him, comment without professional knowledge.
He described as "omniologists" people who appear in public without having the proper licenses and expertise, adding that in such situations there are often hasty reactions due to emotions or a desire for protagonism.
Regarding the causes of the fire, the Prime Minister stated that, according to preliminary assessments, it was caused by a spark and is not directly related to the quality of construction. He added that initial verifications show that the materials used in the facility were certified and imported.
In conclusion, Rama assured that none of the affected residents will be left without support and that the authorities will be committed to their return to normal living conditions, in a fully reconstructed building.
"During this week there was a moment that, for the sake of truth, was initially terrifying because the flames that engulfed a building in Tirana seemed to seriously threaten the lives of the residents, but, fortunately and thanks to the truly professional, but above all heroic, effort and work of the fire brigade, everything passed without any lives being lost and without serious injuries. Meanwhile, what remained after the fire was the burning of that building, for which we immediately set in motion and the first and most important thing, in my opinion, is that the building will be completely rebuilt from scratch, 100% by its builder himself and on the other hand, the commitment to help the residents who, until the moment – and I believe it will not take long, because the carbine is there – but until the moment when those residents return home, can have a rental bonus and, of course, also some support from the municipality to ease the burden created by the irreparable damage that has occurred in the apartments. theirs.
Now, always in these cases, all kinds of omniscient experts and public experts immediately appear, like mushrooms after the rain, but without the licenses and without the necessary knowledge to take on such a role. But anyway, both because of emotions and because of the need to take the lead, who does not come out and what does not say. The truth is that this was a disaster caused by a spark, by a fire, if you like, which has nothing to do with the construction itself, but, on the other hand, this is a reason to see and understand properly what is related to the quality and construction materials, even though, from the first verification that was made, the construction had all certified materials and came from imports, so I do not want to dwell any longer on this point. "The most important thing is that none of those residents who experienced that dramatic moment, who fortunately and, I repeat, thanks, first and foremost, to the firefighting forces, but also to the law enforcement forces present there, did not return in a tragic moment, will be left alone and will not be left to their own devices in the face of the need to return and live normally in their own, completely rebuilt, home," said Rama.
