Prime Minister Edi Rama was one of the participants in the "In Defense of Democracy" summit, which was organized by the Spanish Government of Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister who was involved in a strong and harsh clash with Donald Trump, not only regarding NATO, but also the war on Iran.
The summit brought together leaders of the global left, but not only that. A significant portion of those present are leaders of Soros foundations around the world, while Alex Soros, who has taken over the leadership of the Foundation founded by George Soros, was also present.
Even through social networks, Alex Soros has published a message expressing pride in organizing such a summit.
"It was an honor to welcome so many extraordinary leaders and activists to Barcelona for the first Global Progressive Summit, a special gathering that brought together thousands of participants from over 100 countries and organizations," Alex Soros wrote on Instagram.

Rama has positioned himself as a friend of the Trump family and has not hesitated to talk about his friendship with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the American President. He has also chosen to consider former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the only one in Europe who kicked Soros and his foundations out of Hungary, as a special friend. He has also chosen to call the Prime Minister of Italy, Gioergia Meloni, who represents a completely opposite line from that of Soros, 'sister', but has never rejected Alex, whom he considered a "brother".
