MP Orjola Pampuri reacted today in the framework of World Autism Day. According to her, despite the government's propaganda, children with this disorder have been forgotten.
The MP writes that parents wander from one institution to another and the result is the mother's forced unemployment to care for the child alone, which generates new problems every day.
" The support provided by the state is minimal, and has not increased for years, but has simply been indexed as happens with pensions, and this is not enough. This quota has been reduced based on a biopsychosocial assessment and includes the benefit in payment for the service of a personal assistant, hygiene and sanitation needs, the benefit for promoting education, as well as other measures to alleviate poverty such as various compensations. This distribution of benefits according to statuses has created an escalation of payments that is not fully justified in all cases by the degree of functional needs of individuals in these categories, compared to other categories, while it has created a social inequality in the distribution of benefits ," she writes.

Today is World Autism Day.
The lack of support and services remains the same, despite all the empty propaganda and the reconstruction of centers and services.
Medical and psychological services for people with autism spectrum disorders have a very high cost and compared to the average economic level of Albanian families, there is a financial inability to afford all the costs.
Parents wander from one institution to another and the result is the mother's forced unemployment to care for the child alone, which generates new problems every day.
On the other hand, the support provided by the state is minimal, and has not increased for years, but is simply indexed as is the case with pensions, and this is not enough.
This quota has been reduced based on the biopsychosocial assessment and includes the benefit in payment for the service of a personal assistant, hygiene and sanitation needs, the benefit for promoting education, as well as other poverty alleviation measures such as various compensations.
This distribution of benefits according to status has created a escalating payment system that is not fully justified in all cases by the degree of functional needs of individuals in these categories, compared to other categories, while it has created social inequality in the distribution of benefits.
Therefore, today this category needs more support from the state, it needs reimbursement for therapies that are unaffordable for many families who have children with spectrum disorders.
The centers specifically set up by the state for therapy treatment are insufficient compared to the number of affected children, so in order to enable the treatment of all children with every type of necessary assistance, treatment, and support, the state must reimburse a portion of these services.
Last year, on behalf of the party I represent, I proposed a draft resolution, specifically for more support for this category, which was never discussed in the Health Committee or in a parliamentary session.
This is the importance that this state gives to this category and every other category of people with disabilities.
The priorities are not those who are truly in need, but those who the government needs to reward with tenders and concessions with Albanian money, which they need to increase their wealth and that of their friends, and whenever there is a campaign and votes are needed, they are ready to provide seats for the next four-year terms with money.
To everyone's chagrin, there is no propaganda or campaigning, but neither can you play games, as governments in this country have done.
