The Democratic Party, through its anti-corruption spokesperson, has denounced a construction near the overpass that leads to '5 Maji' street in Tirana, which it says is being carried out without permission from the authorities.
The spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Democratic Party, Genta Vangjeli, says that citizens have notified the police, but the business owner has bribed the authorities to turn a blind eye to the violation of the law.
"The Democratic Party has received another complaint from citizens about illegal construction in Tirana. According to their information, the building is located on 'Dervish Luzha' street, near the overpass that leads to '5 Maji' street. They say they have notified the State Police several times, but there has been no reaction.
The same situation is repeated with the main inspection structures at the national level for the identification and demolition of unauthorized constructions, which have been informed of the violation, but without any intervention on their part. According to citizens, state officials receive repeated payments from the owners of the business that operates in this facility, and in return, the violation of the law is ignored”, said Genta Vangjeli.
The denunciation comes at a time when Prime Minister Edi Rama has for several weeks declared the release of public spaces as a priority.
