Through metaphor and irony, former president Bamir Topi chose to comment on the political situation in the country and specifically what is happening in the Democratic Party.
In "Off the Record" on A2 CNN, the former head of state took aim at the two main political forces in the country for monopolizing power, one in government and the other in opposition, while not opening the way for new opportunities. He compared the Democratic Party to the Soviet blacksmith that does not produce speed, while the other moves at 150 km per hour.
" A car moves at 150 km per hour for a thousand reasons; the quality of the car, the fuel and the driver. It turns out that the Sun must give the car because that driver does not know how to give the car. The rest has a Soviet-style engine that consumes a lot of fuel and does not produce speed. There are also problems of a generic nature. This other car has gone far ahead. This other one must change the car, the driver and be supplied with quality fuel. But it is a two-lane track. It is good that these have these conditions that compete on two lanes but do not allow others who want to compete, they do not even let new cars in. They have monopolized the automobile track ", he said.
When asked if he felt like joining the DP, Bamir Topi ironically replied: "I can't wait for the day to dawn tomorrow so I can go to the gate of the DP."
He criticized the DP for choosing to maintain the opposition monopoly since the day it signed the constitutional amendments in 2008. According to him, this political force should turn its eyes away from its wrong decision-making.
" My case is exhausted. If I were the person who has that strong role of interlocutor with the majority, I would have seen the path and the strong decisions where I was wrong. If you know very well that you were wrong at the moment of signing the constitutional amendments that have deformed the system and made the recall impossible, you have gladly accepted to have the monopoly of the opposition permanently. If a government lasts for 12 years and as the km says until 2050, how is it possible to install a political system without hope of circulation ," he said.
