The prefect of the Vlora district, Vangjel Tavo, spoke after the incident that happened in the municipality of Himara. He said that small interests have taken hostage the interests of the Himariot community.
"This is a storm in a glass and as such it will end quickly. Regarding the mortgage of their properties, I as prefect, in cooperation with the State Cadastre Agency and the local government, will start from Tuesday the whole process of equipping this municipality with the mortgage document.
As a prefect, I will enforce the law. I am here to wait for every citizen for his concern and to solve property concerns within any competence given to me by law.
I know how to interpret the law and the law says what happens under the conditions created. Himara cannot be left ungoverned and under these conditions we apply the law. The law is clear about what happens in these situations. We are not talking about political emotions here, but we are referring to the law," said Tavo.
Vangjel Tavo also spoke about the tourist season, saying that his motivation is unity, cooperation and work.
" On the other hand, we are on the verge of the beginning of the tourist season and start working in cooperation with the local government. My motivation is cooperation and work together" , he said.
