The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, said that she respects the decision of the Constitutional Court to suspend the ratification of the Italy-Albania agreement for African immigrants.
She stated that there is no plan B in this case, as she added that she respects the decisions made by a sovereign country like Albania.
While in the event that the Constitutional Court in Albania gives the green light to the agreement, the Italian Prime Minister said that there will be an acceleration of the procedures for setting up camps and housing immigrants.
"As for Albania, I don't know how to say. I can't say that everything happens, I hope there is no cancellation, but I don't interfere. I'm optimistic that there won't be, but I can't say what will happen in a sovereign country. I respect the decisions of a sovereign country. Let's see what happens in the coming weeks and we'll do our best to speed it up even more if things go too far. At the moment we don't need a Plan B", said Meloni.
