The biggest failure of these elections is undoubtedly Ilir Meta. In addition to running from prison, he promised that he would come out first in Tirana. In several interviews given to the media, he even declared that he would receive over 40 thousand votes. This was reinforced several times by Tedi Blushi.
" The Freedom Party has candidates on an open list, its president, Ilir Metaj, and Metaj will be the most voted MP not only in the Tirana district, but in all of Albania. Our objective is over 40 thousand votes ," he declared.
But from the ballot boxes opened so far, Meta has received 2,643 votes, many times less than Tabaku or Alimehmeti. It seems Meta has been betrayed by his loyalists.
