"We are waiting for the green light", Hasani, part of the EU Council: Time for promises to turn into concrete actions

Foreign Minister Igli Hasani said that enlargement is one of the most successful policies of the European Union.

During a meeting at the EU General Affairs Council, he stated that only radical reforms can bring radical changes. 

"Albania has undertaken the most transformative justice reforms in the Western Balkans and beyond. The rule of law is essential for the development and proper functioning of society. Only radical reforms can bring radical changes", said Hasani.

As for the Justice Reform, Hasani said that it has brought transformation, which has marked a decisive turning point for the country. Hasani added that our country is engaged in anti-corruption reforms, increasing transparency and integrity in public administration.

"Albania is committed to implementing the Growth Plan on time and we are ready for the Second Intergovernmental Conference. We are waiting for the green light from the EU Council. It's time for words and promises to turn into concrete actions" , he said while asking for the acceleration of integration and the opening of negotiations for the chapters.
