Democratic leader Sali Berisha issued a stern warning to Prime Minister Edi Rama, for whom he said there will be direct consequences, regarding the pressure he is exerting on the Constitutional Court in the case of the GJKKO decision to suspend Belinda Balluku from government positions.
Berisha emphasized that Edi Rama is exerting extraordinary, unprecedented pressure on the Constitutional Court, the illegal and unconstitutional methods being used to dictate his decision to this court.
" The attacks on the Constitutional Court in this matter are unprecedented in the history of this country."
Threats, blackmail, and other criminal methods are being used from morning until night.
Precisely because of them, the Court, contrary to every law and precedent, agreed to review the request and also gave them sufficient time to exert all forms of pressure.
Citizens, all that remains is your word and your courage to speak for yourself, for every Albanian, wherever they are, and for all of Europe and the world.
On this occasion, I warn Edi Rama that these positions of his and this attempt to defend himself through the Constitutional Court will have direct consequences on him.
That the Albanian people will never accept such a disgrace.
His deception by citing the Venice Commission in several paragraphs a few days ago received the most deserved response from prominent experts that this Commission does not have a single paragraph in which it states that a minister cannot be suspended. Edi Rama is without any protection now.
"We are preparing the protests and they will begin ," Berisha said.
