Democratic MP Ina Zhupa delivered her speech in today's plenary session, where she requested the removal from the agenda of the voting on the changes foreseen in the Territorial Reform Commission.
This is due to the non-appearance of DP deputies in committees as part of a boycott.
According to discussions at the Conference of Chairmen, if the DP members did not appear at Monday's meeting of the Territorial Reform Commission, the co-leadership would be broken and the majority would pass to the SP.
Zhupa says that this item of the day was not voted on at the Conference of Presidents and that Monday's meeting was called without agreement between the two co-presidents.
"I would like to remind the majority that in the Conference of Speakers there was no vote either for or against such a decision. A decision was made, and with the proposal of the head of the DP group, that this issue would be postponed and we would have the opportunity to dictate on the territorial. It was not voted on in the Conference of Speakers. Something not voted on in the Conference of Speakers cannot be put to a vote in the plenary session. The DP has always been ready to stand by the decision that it voted here in the Assembly, jointly, to carry out the territorial reform. You did it once unilaterally in 2014 and you admit that it was a failure. If we are going to make a reform that serves the citizens, stand by the decision that the Parliament has taken, with the help of internationals, to have the presidency and to decide by listening to the experts. Withdraw that draft decision that you introduced without regulations. There are two co-chairs who should coordinate for meetings. The SP cannot impose itself on the DP. That's why there are two co-chairs. And in the regular committee meetings we coordinate with each other ," said Zhupa.
