The Democratic Party is holding its next protest in Tirana today, following the opposition action against the government.

The latest protest was accompanied by incidents and escalation of violence, with Molotov cocktails thrown at state buildings, forcing authorities to take increased security measures for today's rally.

In this context, the State Police has deployed around 1,500 officers and deployed forces to several points considered sensitive in the capital. An increased police presence has been deployed near the former Villa 31, the former residence of Enver Hoxha, where tensions were registered during the previous protest.

Meanwhile, the headquarters of the Socialist Party has also been surrounded by a metal fence, as part of preventive measures to avoid any possible incidents.

The rally is expected to take place on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard and, as in the previous protest, no podium is planned for speeches.

Authorities have announced restrictions on movement on several main axes of Tirana, while calling on citizens to avoid areas where protests are taking place and to respect the rules for maintaining public order.
