Analyst Fatos Lubonja has commented on the formation of the new Rama 4 government.
According to him, the cabinet is a continuation of Edi Rama's autocratic spirit, where ministers play the role of puppets. Lubonja emphasized that decisions are made behind the scenes, while power is controlled by a close connection between the government, oligarchs and organized crime.
He added that international support also gives Rama legitimacy in this closed system of power.
"It was a government of continuity, of the same spirit. By continuity we mean the growth of Edi Rama's autocratic spirit, where ministers increasingly have the role of puppets on stage, while the strings of decisions are made behind the scenes. Even the oligarchs who were once with Berisha, today are with Rama.
"The oligarchy's media is under the control of Edi Rama. Organized crime is holding the Albanian economy back today. The fourth part that gives legitimacy to Rama is international support. The ministers are the puppets who are put in place to cover up what is happening behind the scenes," Lubonja said.
