Democratic MP, Luciano Boçi, was critical of the government, stating that education in the country is at “miserable levels” and that Albania does not meet the standards required by the European Union. According to him, the government’s reports do not reflect reality and are used for political purposes.
"In relation to education, we are at miserable levels, we do not meet any conditions. The EU requires that scientific research be financed with 3% of GDP, while we are actually at 0.06%. When we have a government report that does not reflect reality, it is not weak, but constructed with deceit," said Boçi.
The DP MP added that the opposition has an obligation to reflect the real situation in the country, also mentioning problems in the justice system and the climate for foreign investors.
He also raised accusations about the use of state resources in electoral campaigns by the majority, claiming that public funds and certain economic interests influence the electoral process.
Speaking about the integration resolution, Boçi said that it reflects the opposition's positions and aims to convey a message to Brussels that there is political will for Albania's membership in the European Union.
"The resolution reflects the amendments and serves as a message to Brussels that the opposition has the will for integration, despite the majority's propaganda," he told News24.
Boçi added that the majority is trying to use the opposition's positions to cover up other issues, while emphasizing that the integration process should be based on reality and not on political propaganda.
