Ulsi Manja responded ironically to the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, during the plenary session, after the latter had previously used the label "miko" towards him.
The Minister of Justice took the floor after nearly two hours of discussions on the draft resolution on integration into the European Union, but began his reaction by referring to the previous debate in the hall and Sali Berisha's accusations about the meeting with Belinda Balluku in Peshkopi.
"Mr. Speaker of the Assembly, since you didn't give me the floor to waste my minutes responding to Sali Berisha for the accusations he made, I should at least apologize to you over the microphone for lowering your rank," said Manja.
He continued to criticize the way the hearing was conducted, emphasizing that public apology is more valuable than political irony.
"You preferred that instead of my public empathy, your cynicism with a microphone dominate. I want to ask you that the power of empathy even without a microphone is much stronger than anyone's cynicism in relation to colleagues in this room," declared Manja.
The Minister also added that he is familiar with the Assembly's regulations, implying that his reaction was in accordance with parliamentary procedures.
But the reply did not go unanswered by the chairman of the session, Niko Peleshi, who responded to the socialist MP with another ironic comment.
"I am not allowed to respond, according to the rules of the Assembly, but I will study your words, I may change my opinion, but not my behavior," said Peleshi.
The verbal clash between the two socialists attracted the attention of the plenary session, putting the discussions on the draft resolution on European integration in the background.
