The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, responded from the Parliament's rostrum to the accusations of Sali Berisha, who claimed that the chairman of the Laws Committee "takes Belinda Balluku to Peshkopi because she has his file."
Manja ironized the leader of the Democratic Party, stating that Berisha follows his political agenda, while adding that he himself follows Berisha only "as a mirror" so as not to become like him in politics.
"Sali, today you gave me proof that you follow my political agenda and I am convinced that you follow me now as well," Manja said in the Assembly.
The minister also suggested to Berisha to "free his mind and soul from the file," while warning that opening his file would have major political and public consequences.
"If your file is opened, the whole of Albania will smell it!", declared Manja from the Parliament podium.
He also referred to Berisha's "persona non grata" declaration, saying that this was the "cover" of his political file.
"You have put the lid on that file with the academic title 'non grata' ," the minister said.
Manja added that no one brings "files, mud or slander" with them, while emphasizing that he himself is "free in mind and spirit."
The minister once again mocked Berisha, offering "help" if he needed the file "on the road".
"If you need the file to take with you, be careful not to lose any papers and need them on the way, and if you need help, I will help you go with the file exactly," said Manja.
"Sali, today you gave me proof that you follow my political agenda and I am convinced that you follow me now too! I am glad that you follow me, Sali, I am glad that you follow me in my political activities because I also follow you as a mirror, but we follow each other for different purposes. I follow you as a mirror to see myself so that I do not end up in politics like you. I have a friendly suggestion. Sali, free your mind and soul from the file because your file is so big that whatever you add to it, it does not change anything. You have put the lid on that file with the academic title non grata and when this one has not done any good either, you have no more reason to reflect.
If your file is opened, the whole of Albania will smell! Where we will all go in turn, as God has written, I will paraphrase an expression from the Tropoja area: in this world, we came in a slob and we will leave in a slob! We will not take a file, nor dirt, nor slander, nor intrigue, they will accept us as we are. There we will go before Saint Peter and we will give an account. I do not have a big concern about taking any file with me, at all because I am ready to give an account when I go there, I am free in mind and spirit. If you need a file to take with you, be careful not to lose a letter and need it on the way, and if you need help, I will help you go with the file exactly", said Manja in the Assembly.
The minister's statements brought tensions and reactions to the Parliament hall, turning the political debate into a fierce personal clash between the majority and the opposition.
