With the slogan "We love Albania like all of Europe," protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office building. At a rally organized by the opposition, chants such as "Rama go away" and "Rama in prison" were also heard.
Leading the protesters are the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, as well as other opposition leaders.
Deputies and supporters have joined the rally, while organizers have warned that further details on the continuation and scenario of the protest will be announced as it unfolds.
Immediately after the gathering, the protest was accompanied by tensions. According to reports from the field, some of the protesters threw fireworks and Molotov cocktails towards the Prime Minister's Office building.
In response, police forces intervened using water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters and bring the situation under control.
The situation in front of the government building remains tense, with an increased presence of law enforcement.
