The storm of dismissals in the municipality seems to have also included Tirana. Prime Minister Edi Rama gathered today in a meeting the directors of the municipality and deputies of the capital, where he gave many directives and instructions on the management of public spaces.
But according to "A2 CNN", Rama has demanded that all deputy mayors of Tirana resign. But he did not make an exception for Anuela Ristan, who is deputy mayor and has taken on the role of acting mayor of the municipality, questioning her future.
Rama is reported to have said that other people should be appointed to the positions of deputy mayors and that each should be responsible for specific areas and sectors for better management of the capital. According to sources, Rama said that new names are needed until the elections are held, without giving a deadline for when the elections will be held.
The signs are that there is a cooling off between Rama and Ristan. For days, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has been conducting interviews with the directors of the municipality, requesting only the presence of the secretary general and not Anuela Ristan, which proves that the broom will catch her too.
At today's meeting, Rama expressed appreciation only for IKMT and the Municipal Police, while he was critical of other sectors.
Rama warned of the storm in the municipality earlier. Through a status on social networks, he said that he is being helped by the Tony Blair Institute to draft a reorganization strategy for the largest municipality in the country.
