The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has commented on the meetings he held with Albanians in Athens and Italy. In a press conference, Berisha considers these meetings as a "victory journey."
The former prime minister also stated that the meeting with the emigrants was identical to the electoral enthusiasm of 1991. Berisha stated that "Prime Minister Rama as a major national danger was embedded in every cell of Albanians abroad."
"I stand before you today to present my journey to Italy and Greece as what I would say is the most amazing, the most exciting, the most energizing of all my visits. The journey to the diaspora is a journey towards human sacrifice.
Since we are in the campaign, what I can tell you is that on this trip I found that support, that burst of energy and optimism, that enthusiasm, which is identical to the electoral enthusiasm of 1991.
One cannot imagine the explosion of emotions, optimism, determination and enthusiasm.
The motto that on May 11, Albania is saved was deeply embedded in the entire being of Albanian immigrants and the diaspora.
Therefore, I cannot help but say, not describe this journey as a journey into the world of victory. A profound victory, a victory that had the salvation of Albania as the greatest joy of the Albanians, as their most important mission.
"Edi Rama, a major national danger, was embedded in every cell of the being of Albanians abroad," said Berisha.
