Rama 'rewards' former ministers, eight Bablok trustees for Parliament

Damian Gjiknuri is reconfirmed at the electoral reform, while Fatmir Xhafaj takes over the leadership of the Civic Initiative. All the names proposed by the SP as heads of the Parliamentary Commissions…

The Socialist Parliamentary Group has appointed 8 of its representatives to the Commissions that will function in the Albanian Parliament, including the Electoral Reform Commission. The proposals were made by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who seems to have chosen to "reward" his former ministers by giving them the leadership of the Commissions.

He has even entrusted the leadership of one Commission to Blendi Klos, the General Secretary of the Socialist Party, just as he has reconfirmed his trust in Damian Gjiknuri and Fatmir Xhafaj, as leaders of two Commissions, the first for electoral reform and the other for Civic Initiatives.

In the previous legislature, Xhafaj took on the task of leading the Special Anti-Corruption Commission, which raised many doubts that the purpose of its establishment was to attack the new justice institutions, especially SPAK. But even in the new Parliament, the former Minister of Interior has once again been entrusted with a Commission, not leaving him out of the 'pan' of characters who hold a 'rank' beyond that of MP.

And Igli Hasani, who will head the Committee for Europe and Foreign Affairs, has also received a similar rank.

In the previous legislature, there were two committees, which, by Rama's decision, were merged into one, removing the opposition's right to lead what was known as the Parliamentary Committee on Integration. The latter was led by Jorida Tabaku.

Anila Denaj, former Minister of Agriculture, has also been promoted by Rama to chair the Committee on Natural Resources, while Bledi Ccucci will head the Committee on Internal Affairs, or as it was known in the previous legislature as the Committee on Security.
