Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha showed statistics that prove that depopulation began with Rama's arrival in government.
He said that Rama established a dictatorship, while adding that from 2014-2023, 1 million and 99 thousand Albanians have left.
"It went from transition to dictatorship. Edi Rama established dictatorship. ... I handed over Albania at a time when from 2007 to 2014, according to INSTAT, the population grew year by year. During the period when the DP ruled, from 2007 to 2014 there was gradual growth.
"From 2014 to 2023, 1 million and 99 thousand Albanians have left the Schengen area. This is a EUROSTAT statistic. So, those who left for the USA, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, Norway, etc. are not counted. Only 700 thousand young people have left ," Berisha said for "Syri TV".
