The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, appeared at a media conference, where he responded to yesterday's statements by Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the opposition's lack of interest in starting the work of the Electoral Reform Commission.
During his speech, Basha said that Rama's statement yesterday was just an alibi to avoid responsibility, while he said that DP is ready to start the procedures to convene the Electoral Reform Commission as soon as possible.
" DP has revealed its political priorities since November 2023 by submitting several draft laws to the Parliament. I refer to the legal package. This commission has not been convened for a long time, despite the DP's request and the international factor. Included are proposals for open lists, Albania a constituency so that only 1/3 does not vote. So after sending this package, we had promises of collection.
