Re-establishing the Democratic Party by bringing together all those who left, this is what MP Kreshnik Çollaku sees as the solution to the situation the largest opposition force is in. In an interview with A2CNN, the MP, who will no longer be a member in September, calls for a reformation of all structures of the Democratic Party.

"The DP should be a party that listens more to society, it should see itself even with those who do not vote for it and oppose it, not as a party in conflict with society," said Çollaku.

And when it comes to reforming the Democratic Party, Çollaku does not think that this process should necessarily affect the leadership of Sali Berisha. According to him, if the DP leader has to take a step back, it is up to him: "I think that both approaches are unrealistic and immature. I do not know what Berisha will do with the article of the statute that he wrote himself in a moment of conflict. It is a dry article, which I do not know how he will solve. I think that his political weight is greater than an article in the statute. I think that he will solve this impasse himself," says Çollaku.

He further claims that he also supports his colleague Ferdinand Xhaferri's idea for a "Foltore 2", but adds that reforming the DP should not be done as a process against Berisha.

"I think that everyone, including Berisha, but everyone who has contributed to the DP since 90, should create an Assembly, a big platform, about what we did well, what we did badly and how we will save it. By each giving their own contribution."

In September, he will not have a seat in the Assembly, but he also suggests to his colleagues not to accept to sit with the majority.

"If it is a farce, the Parliament is monist, it should be treated as such. I do not want to speculate on this, I am neither for boycotts nor for burning mandates but for blocking mandates. There is a procedure, the deputies receive the mandate, they appear after 6 months to maintain the mandate, so they go to the Assembly almost 8 times to show that it is a monist parliament. This and the fact that the numbers that the opposition has are negligible, since the majority controls at least 86 mandates", said Çollaku.

The lack of a mandate for the MP seems not to keep him from politics, as he claims that he will continue to be active in the DP but will also return to his work as a lecturer.
