The advisor for economic affairs in DP, Dorjan Teliti, in a statement to the media, spoke about the increase in consumer prices.
Teliti said that in December the prices of the food basket increased the most by 6.7%, the prices of vegetables by +20.8%, the prices of fruits by +10.9%, the prices of milk, cheese and eggs by +6.7%, the price of meat with +5.5%, etc.
Further, on behalf of the DP, he called on Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Ministry of Finance to allocate a 200 million euro financial aid package for families and productive businesses.
Among other things, he said that it is unacceptable that after 11 years of governance by Edi Rama, we face the same phenomenon, that of price increases.
Full statement:
After successive failures and abuses in the management of the economy and public property during the past year, after the bankruptcy of dozens of businesses, putting thousands of women heads of families out of work as a result of the inexplicable devaluation of the euro, except from illegal sources, as he himself found out yesterday The IMF, after the misuse of Albanians' money with non-competitive tenders and payments for non-existent incinerators, after the state budget in December gave 30 million euros to AlbControl to cover its own expenses after Behçetti took its money in implementation of the decision of International Courts, after introducing freelancers into the income tax scheme from 15 to 23%, another bitter news comes from the government's Instat.
In the month of December, in the month when oligarchs and governors sit head to head drinking bottles of expensive wine to discuss and reconcile accounts of their corrupt profits of hundreds of millions of euros, the ordinary citizens of this country, those who work from morning till in the evening to feed their children, faced a further increase in the prices of the basic basket of consumption.
Specifically, only in the month of December, the prices of the food basket increased by 6.7%, the prices of vegetables by +20.8%, the prices of fruits by +10.9%, the prices of milk, cheese and eggs by +6.7%, the price of meat by +5.5 %, etc.
The anger at the increase in prices can be seen everywhere, on every face of a simple parent, in every corner of Albania, both in our cities and in our villages, most of whom did not even have the opportunity to set a decent table for the dinner of the year. young.
How can we expect people to live with dignity, be healthy and eat properly when food is becoming more and more expensive?
It is unacceptable that after 11 years of governance, every year we are faced with the same phenomenon, that of double-digit growth of basic foods, but even more intolerable is the abandonment that continues to be done to the simple Albanian family.
Therefore, although we do not have any hope that it will happen, the Democratic Party considers it necessary and calls on the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance to immediately undertake, without losing a single day, a financial support package for low-income families and for Albanian manufacturing businesses.
Allocation of a financial package of at least 200 million euros, divided into 150 million euros in financial support to low-income families and 50 million euros in support of productive enterprises to somewhat compensate their losses from exchange rate fluctuations and their adaptation to sectoral developments, is the best and fastest answer to come to the aid of the family economy and the local manufacturing enterprise, with the sole purpose of preserving jobs and keeping the consumption of overwhelmed family.
