Albania signed today the first chapter of negotiations with the EU, which in reality is a long process without a specific deadline.

Montenegro, which is the first Western Balkan country to sign several chapters, started this process in 2013, and today, after 11 years, there is no date for membership. Serbia has also signed a large number of chapters. There are 24 chapters in total, and none of the two countries in the region have even gone half way.

The reason is not at all technical, but mainly political. The stalemate in the Balkans, in addition to the problematic situation of democracy and the rule of law in the seven countries of the region, also occurred as a result of the stoppage that French President Emmanuel Macron made to the enlargement process. Macron has created two EUs, a type of NGO where the candidate countries participate plus Great Britain, which voluntarily left the European Union, and the current community. France, but also Germany want to change the EU's functioning mechanism to remove the power of medium and small countries, which can threaten their veto.

Meanwhile, other countries oppose this proposal and have put themselves as a 'dam' against it.

In the EU, two opposing clubs have been created that have already been profiled. That of Macron and Scholz, who are allies with Ursula Von der Leyen, who want change, and on the other hand, Hungary, Poland and Italy, who oppose this.

More than a clash of states, we are dealing with two opposite political lobbies, which are also returning to two major European approaches. That of the current popular, Christian-democratic, centrist and social-democratic government and the sovereignist forces, which are already in power in Poland, Hungary and Italy, which are also advancing in France and Germany.

Edi Rama did not start a flirtation, an alliance with the extreme right today. As early as 2020, when Rama unexpectedly defended Viktor Orban in the Italian media, when a left-wing activist, who is now an MEP, Ilaria Salis, was arrested.

Since then, Rama started a transversal relationship with Orban and then with Giorgia Meloni. Even signing separation agreements such as that of Gjadri immigrants, breaking relations with the European leftists.

Meanwhile, with Orban, but also with Meloni, it seems that the relationship is going beyond politics, towards financial agreements.

Today's signing of the First Chapter of membership has been strongly pushed by the Hungarian Presidency of the EU. Orban said it openly two days ago with Edi Rama in Budapest.

This signing is similar to the ceremony of submitting the application for membership, which Sali Berisha did in 2009, under the Czech presidency of the EU. After a few days, he gave CEZ the ownership of the electricity distribution system operator. It is known how it ended up in a black hole of corruption. Even Orban is not behind the Czechs. Today in Albania, the people close to Viktor Orban have an important bank, a mobile, landline and internet phone company, several small microcredit groups, and there is more and more talk that they are also looking for the DSO.

Today, Hungary has managed to capture a large slice of the market in Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, etc..

But more and more articles, accusations, investigations and reports are circulating, which say that China and Russia are behind these investments. Two of Viktor Orban's closest allies, who made his first political visits after assuming the presidency of the EU, made to Moscow and Beijing.

But here, do Russia and China have a hand?

If there is an injection of capital, definitely yes, and these capitals serve the oligarchy and the system promoted by Edi Rama more than the citizens. Who has allies Viktor Orban and his friends./ Pamphlet
