Former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, has intensified his criticism of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declaring that he can easily defeat Berisha and that the party cannot come to power under his leadership.
Salianji said that Berisha is using the Democratic Party for personal interests and publicly challenged him to make the decision to disqualify him from the race for party leadership transparent.
"I will beat Sali Berisha in a race. Today, there is dissatisfaction, even hatred, among 80 percent of the Democrats," declared Salianji.
He added that the way he was excluded from the race also contributed to the low turnout at opposition protests. Salianji also raised questions about the lack of an official decision to disqualify him. He also commented on Berisha's legal situation, stating that the DP leader has many problems with the justice system.
In conclusion, Salianji emphasized that the Democratic Party cannot win elections with Berisha at the helm.
"I beat Sali Berisha in a race. Today, he has the discontent to the point of hatred of 80% of the Democrats. Look at my meetings. The exclusion he made of me from the race, and the way he did it or treated me, led to so few people protesting. Berisha has many problems with justice... Why is there no decision, what is the reason that I was disqualified. I will not let them go, I will continue. With Berisha, the DP will not win today or ever," Salianji said on News 24.
