Brussels Summit, Varhelyi meets with Rama: Ready to start opening chapters of integration

Prime Minister Edi Rama met with the Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit. According to Varhelyin, the next steps of Albania on its way to the EU were discussed.

" On the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, Albania's next steps on its path to the EU were discussed with Prime Minister Edi Rama. As we completed the screening, we are ready to open the membership negotiations on the basis - Group 1 - in the framework of an Intergovernmental Conference this year ", writes Varhelyin on the X platform.

It is worth noting that today Rama is in Brussels, where he is participating in the Summit of the European Union and the Western Balkans, which takes place one year after the Summit held on December 6 in Tirana, with the participation of the leaders of the EU and the Western Balkans.
