Rama's visit to Israel causes reactions on social networks and Turkish media...
Edi Rama's visit to Israel, with a speech to the Israeli Parliament and meetings with Benjamin Netanyahu, has created an undeclared, but increasingly visible, tension in relations with Ankara. At a time when most world leaders have publicly avoided Tel Aviv due to the military offensive in Gaza, Rama appears as the only European prime minister to physically participate in the Israeli forum on the fight against anti-Semitism.
In Albania, part of the official communication was the fact that the Israeli firm in the military and technological fields is expanding investments in the country, becoming an important economic and strategic partner, in some sectors even before Turkish investors who have historically had a strong presence in the Albanian market.
In the Turkish media, including some channels close to the government, there has been no shortage of critical articles and public curses against the head of the Albanian government. "Zionist servant" and "traitor" are just some of the labels given to Rama on social networks, while some analysts affiliated with the AKP describe Albania as a country that is "accepting the role of Israel's satellite in the Balkans."

This development stands in stark contrast to the positions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has previously stated that Israel should be considered an enemy, publicly criticizing it for its military operations in Gaza and for its failure to respect international standards. When inaugurating the Namazgja mosque, Erdoğan publicly called for Albania to adopt a more critical line towards Tel Aviv, an invitation that Rama does not follow in this case.

In this light, Rama’s taking sides is perceived in some circles as challenging the diplomatic balance with Turkey, an act that could further complicate the personal and institutional relations between the two leaders who have historically presented themselves as “political brothers.” Erdoğan has often been an important ally for Rama in difficult moments, including post-earthquake aid, support for foreign investment and strategic developments, as well as assistance in infrastructure projects such as the construction of the hospital in Fier.

However, Ankara's response to Rama's visit indicates a possible shift in the dynamics of regional ties: while Turkey maintains critical rhetoric towards Israel and supports stronger pro-Palestinian stances, Albania seems to be choosing to move relations with Tel Aviv forward, treating it as a new economic and strategic partner, even in sensitive areas such as military technology. /Pamphlet
Shqiperia eshte vend I pavarur e s'ka pse merr doren e Turqise apo shteteve te tjera per aleancat e saj. Po keshtu asnje bese nuk I eshte dhene Turqise, per tu njehsuar me qendrimet e saj politike.
