The hearing at SPAK for former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, related to the sale of the former bakery, has been postponed to February 2.
According to lawyer Henrik Ligori, the request for a trial against Ahmetaj should be considered invalid and the documents should be returned for SPAK investigation.
The defender said that SPAK was unclear in its position.
Ahmetaj is also being investigated for 3 criminal offenses related to the incinerator affair and for which there is a security measure of arrest in prison.
According to the Special Prosecutor's Office, at the time he held the position of Minister of Finance, Ahmetaj abused his position by committing irregularities in this process and the duke sold the factory to a businessman, even though the Albanian state had previously recognized the land to the former owners.
According to SPAK, by this action of Ahmetaj, damage of 7 billion lek has been caused to the state budget.
Ahmetaj himself has reacted several times from the escape to the issue of the incinerators and the former bread factory, claiming innocence and calling the accusation of SPAK as tragicomic. Ahmetaj says that he has protected the interests of the Albanian state.
