Edi Rama and Sali Berisha are following a similar strategy when it comes to drafting the list of candidates for MPs. Just as Berisha will only include political leaders on safe lists, Edi Rama will do the same.
The Prime Minister was in Fier this afternoon, where he held a meeting with the Socialist Assembly in this region. Rama is reported to have told the Socialists of Fier that, in addition to political leaders, all those who want to run for MPs will be on open lists.
" The race is open to everyone, fight for the mandate of the deputy yourself ," said the socialist leader. Rama has sought support for the district leader Belinda Balluku, while making it clear that everyone must fight to the maximum. He has also placed special emphasis on the diaspora vote, as he has given a clear message that everyone should secure as many emigrant votes as possible.
So if we look at what is happening in the DP and the SP, we can say that we have 24 names that have a secure mandate as MP. It should be noted that the SP has 13 names as political leaders, among them 3 mayors and they are not part of the lists. The envoys for the diaspora, Taulant Balla of the SP and Jozefina Topalli of the DP, are also expected to be part of the secure list.
As for the other names, Rama and Berisha will once again have them in hand. The PS will hold the primaries on March 1, but once again Berisha will decide in the end.
