Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a communication held with journalists in Skopje, spoke about the summit of Western Balkan leaders, also focusing on the dinner held with EU and US officials.
Rama said that he was for the first time at a dinner where Serbian President Aleksandër Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti were present, stressing that it was a positive meeting.
The Prime Minister also underlined that in that meeting, there was a positive communication between all parties, as he called to leave the past behind and to work concretely for the future.
" It is the first time that I am at a dinner together with Albin and President Vucic, and there was a positive communication between everyone. And it seems to me that this format and these demands that the EU has today from everyone to give us the opportunity to get much more back in economic and financial terms speak for themselves about what I have been talking about all these years, as we must to integrate ourselves internally. We are not ready because we have wasted time dealing with terminology. The EU has made it clear that whoever becomes the cause will penalize themselves. Instead of dealing with the content, we should deal with concrete work" , he said.
Among others from Skopje, Rama warned that a Summit for Ukraine will be held in Tirana.
"Security was not the topic of today's meeting, while it was touched on in principle, perhaps in detail, in the bilateral meetings. We are preparing a summit in Tirana for Ukraine, and we must have President Zelensky present, and we will try to have the next meeting of the leaders of the region with today's representatives of the EU and who will follow to make a this month's balance to continue with the accelerated pace that is dictated by the new processes that are happening in the EU, there are new elections. We have to close this package by doing our job within the deadlines that this administration has in Brussels. It is a summit in support of Ukraine and to discuss with the president of Ukraine about the security challenges ", said Rama.
