Socialist MP Erion Braçe has reacted publicly through social media regarding recent developments in the Socialist Party, emphasizing the need for greater openness and inclusion within the party.
His reaction comes after the meeting of the SP Assembly in Unit 5, held at the Palace of Congresses, as well as after the meeting of the parliamentary group at the Palace of Brigades, where tensions and direct clashes were reported between Prime Minister Edi Rama and MP Elisa Spiropali.
Braçe describes the Assembly meeting as “good” and “calm,” but his message focuses on the direction the party should take going forward. He emphasizes that strengthening the SP is not related to existing structures, but to openness to new individuals and ideas.
" Strengthening the SP by opening up, accepting, and including leftists who want to develop and advance their ideas together with the SP, was another good goal that we talked about and will continue to talk about ," writes Braçe.
Along the same lines, he adds that "chairs are never the goal, work and tasks are what count", a formulation that is read as an indirect criticism of the focus on positions and control within the party.
His statement takes on weight in the context of recent developments in the Socialist Party, where the parliamentary group meeting was accompanied by tensions and open clashes. In this climate, Braça's message is seen as a signal for the need to change the way the party functions and reopen the internal debate.
The MP's reaction comes at a time when critical voices within the SP are becoming more visible and clashes are no longer remaining just behind the scenes.
